RISH was pleased to offer an educational scholarship to sponsor the attendance of a RISH student member to the 2009 Region I Histotechnology Conference in Newport, RI. 

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Financial Need
• Membership in the Rhode Island Society for Histotechnology
• Enrolled as a student in a science or histology program
• Involvement in State and Regional activities promoting histotechnology
• Demonstrate motivation and reason for wanting to attend a Region I Meeting

The candidate must write a letter to the RISH President detailing how he/she meets the above criteria. Also, he/she must submit a similar letter from his/her instructor, supervisor, or a peer. Selection will be determined by the RISH President and his/her committee, consisting of two RISH State Society Officers. The scholarship recipient will receive up to $500 towards:

• Two night’s accommodation at the Newport Harbor Hotel and Marina
• Paid Registration for both days of the meeting

Expenses for the award must be submitted to the RISH President within 30 days of the meeting and are given on a reimbursement basis.  This scholarship will be up to $500 awarded for this meeting.
